My activity

My PhD project aims at reconstructing the seasonal patterns of temperature and precipitation during the Holocene in the Mediterranean region. Paleoclimatic quantification is achieved by applying transfer functions on pollen data and analysing branched tetraethers (brGDGTs) on high temporal resolution sequences. The pollen data are used in a multi-method approach: Modern Analogue Technique (MAT), Weighted Averaging Partial Least Square regression (WAPLS), Random Forest (RF) and Boosted Regression Trees (BRT). For brGDGTs, reconstructions are made from global calibrations of lakes, soils or peats according to their environmental context.
