My activity

My Phd explores the evolution of marine species in port ecosystems under the influence of anthropogenic selection pressures. The development of global maritime transport and the specific abiotic conditions of ports promote the coexistence of exotic and native species, which sometimes hybridize. I am studying the impact of these hybridizations in marine invertebrates (ascidians of the genus Ciona and mussels of the genus Mytilus) by examining the relationships between genotype, phenotype, and environment. In parallel, theoretical simulations allow me to project the evolution of these systems. My objective is to better understand how port environments shape selection pressures, influence demographic dynamics, and redefine species movements within human-altered marine landscapes.
