My activity
I am an archaeologist and archaeobotanist currently conducting my PhD on the reconstruction of woodland use and environmental adaptation in Medieval Islamic South Iberia through charcoal analysis. The project’s main objective is to understand woodland resource management and environmental adaptation strategies in medieval Islamic settlements ranging from the 8th century CE to the 15th century CE. Secondary objectives include identifying woodland species exploited for construction, fuel, and other purposes, as well as detecting and characterising woodland management techniques such as pollarding.
