My activity
Currently, I am working with environmental DNA metabarcording data to investigate the effect of human activities and urbanisation on marine animal communities as well as on the occurrence/abundance of non indigenous species (NIS) across European seas. My postdoc project represents the 5.1.3 task of the European Horizon Europe project Biocean5D led by Frédérique Viard (ISEM), Sophie Arnaud-Haond (Ifremer) and Xavier Turon (CSIC, Spain). In practice my work consists in the analysis of metabarcording eDNA data to adress genetic and ecological questions, and to generate a list of potential non indigenous species occurring in European ports and in their nearby natural environments.
I am particularly interested in understanding how human activities and anthropogenic environmental changes shape the dynamics and structure of communities across scales, from microbial assemblages to animal communities, and I am especially fascinated by the potential of non-invasive technologies for environmental exploration.
