Work interests

My research activities are focusing on the evolutionary biology of host-parasite interactions with a focus on vector-borne diseases and public health issues. To do so I am merging lab, field, and theoretical approaches with the aim of better understanding the potential impact of novel tools (transgenic mosquitoes, gene drive, …) on the epidemiology of vector-borne diseases (malaria, dengue,…). I am also interested in science communication and the relationships between scientists, their object of study, and the public, especially when it concerns innovation and technology in entomology, pest control, and public health.

Additional roles and responsibilities :

– Member of the ISEM council 2021-2026
– Appointed Expert of the Vector Working Group of the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES), 2018 – ongoing
– Appointed Expert of the Scientific Council of the National Research Programme for Environmental and Occupational Health of the ANSES, 2019 – ongoing

The Institute of Evolutionary Science of Montpellier (ISEM – University of Montpellier, CNRS, IRD, EPHE, CIRAD, INRAP) has been focusing research on biodiversity origins and dynamics and the associated evolutionary mechanisms.
