My activity
My research focuses on ecological community dynamics, with particular interest in how species interactions can be inferred from time-series data and linked to emergent ecosystem properties. I mainly use mechanistic population-dynamic models, numerical simulations, and statistical and Bayesian inference methods. At ISEM, I am particularly interested in identifiability problems in ecological interaction networks: under which conditions can species interactions be reliably reconstructed, and to what extent is detailed knowledge of those interactions necessary to predict community stability, resilience, and responses to perturbations? More broadly, my work combines theoretical ecology, complex-systems approaches, and data-driven methods to improve our understanding and prediction of ecological dynamics.
