My activity

Alexa Sadier’s group studies the molecular evolution involved in the morphological changes of ectodermal tissues, using bat as a biological model. Due to their wide dietary diversity, these mammals have adapted their dentition throughout evolution. The remarkable diversity of these species and their varied diets provide an ideal framework for analyzing the resulting mechanical and morphological adaptations. My primary role is to implement and optimize new transcriptomics techniques, specifically spatial and single-cell approaches. These methods aim to map and decipher the variations in gene expression that underlie these morphological divergences. In parallel, I perform microscopy analyses, using in situ hybridization and immunostaining techniques to characterize tissue development.
