My PhD is entitled “Pangenomic exploration to study the dynamics of transposable elements and their impact on human evolution.” I analyze sequencing data of human genomes from multiple populations, generated by the Human Pangenome Reference Consortium (HPRC), to investigate the diversity and dynamics of transposable elements.
To better understand these dynamics, I also explore the potential link between transposable elements and DNA structures known as G-quadruplexes (G4).
To conduct this project, I use comparative genomics approaches and bioinformatics analyses at the pangenomic scale. The aim of this study is to provide a more precise and detailed understanding of the evolutionary dynamics of transposable elements and their impact on the structure and evolution of the human genome.
