My areas of expertise are paleoecology and paleoclimatology, with a focus on paleoenvironmental reconstructions and paleoclimatic inferences in the Amazon, based on the use of tools such as palynology, charcoal particles, stable isotopes (C, N) and radiocarbon (¹⁴C), as well as hydrogen and carbon stable isotopes measured on specific compounds (n-alkanes, fatty acids) preserved in lacustrine sediments, in order to obtain information on paleoprecipitation throughout the Late Quaternary. My research also focuses on paleoenvironmental reconstruction based on pollen records preserved in bat guano deposits from iron-ore caves in the Carajás National Forest.
