My activity

My PhD research within the FIRELANDES project focuses on modelling forest vegetation and fire dynamics in the Landes de Gascogne region (France) from the late Holocene to 2100. The objective is to understand how natural vegetation landscapes influence fire regimes under future climate scenarios compared to current pine plantation systems. I use quantitative and spatial approaches, including forest landscape modelling with LANDIS-II, GIS, remote sensing, and statistical analysis, integrating paleoecological data to reconstruct and simulate vegetation–fire interactions through time. More broadly, my work aims to improve our understanding of forest ecosystem responses to global change and to support conservation and sustainable management strategies.
