I am a postdoctoral researcher in Soil Science, with an emphasis on tropical soil genesis, approaching soils as natural archives and memory of environmental changes through time. My research focuses on paleoenvironmental reconstruction through the integration of multiple techniques, including palynology, charcoal fragment analysis, stable isotopes (δ¹³C and δ¹⁵N), elemental geochemistry, and dating methods such as radiocarbon (¹⁴C) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL), applied to the study of tropical peatlands (organic soils). The main objective is to understand climatic and vegetational changes, as well as variations in relative sea level throughout the Holocene along the southeastern Brazilian coast.
