My activity
My work involves studying the toxicity of pesticides present in the environment, particularly in air and water, which could have an impact on human health. My work is based on the study of structural and functional changes in mitochondria (cellular organelles essential for energy production) in response to stress (pesticides) or pathophysiological conditions. A pipeline developed by the team, MITOMATICS, enables efficient, rapid and cost-effective analysis of mitochondrial shape and network architecture within the cell from confocal fluorescence images.
