My activity
My thesis in ISEM aims to study palaeoecology of several wetlands of the French Massif central. First we are going to date the formation of these wetlands and understand their ecological dynamic since the Last glacial maximum. For that we are studying present vegetation cover, pollen and non-pollinic palynomorphs (NPPs). We are then going to use this knowledge to understand and define the gestion, conservation and restoration of these particular environments. Wetlands are of very high conservation interest : adding to their inherent value, they offer major ecosystem services (water resources, water treatment, carbon sink, biodiversity reservoir…) and they are sensible to climate changes (temperature rising, fluctuation of the precipitation patterns…) and to human disturbances (forestry, crops, livestock…)
