Work interests

I work on climate changes over the past thousand years and their impacts on mountain tree species in the Mediterranean. I use fossil records to estimate past climate changes, to analyze the tree species long-term adaptation, resilience or extinction, to reconstruct dynamically their past ranges and to identify potential areas where they may persist under the ongoing climate change. These past ecological reconstructions are meant to contribute to a better management of the mountain resources and to help protecting endangered mountain tree species.

The Institute of Evolutionary Science of Montpellier (ISEM – University of Montpellier, CNRS, IRD, EPHE, CIRAD, INRAP) has been focusing research on biodiversity origins and dynamics and the associated evolutionary mechanisms.
