My work at ISEM concerns the agroecological intensification of rice-fish farming in the highlands region of Madagascar. The preferred intensification approaches are those of peasant fish feeding and organic fertilization of rice fields, through the valorization of agricultural by-products and crop residues by vermicomposting and vermiculure. In order to be as close as possible to the farmers’ problems, my research methodology is based on a participatory and action research approach.
