I have been hired for a 3-years contract as part of an ANR which funds the project EDENs (Evolutionary Dynamics of Early EoceNe mammals from Southwestern France). My activities include notably prospection and diggings in southern France and the collection of fossil specimens and sediments on the field. I prepare mechanically specimens with a fine needle or a pneumatic needle. I also treat chemically bags of sediments with the help of acid baths before sorting the remaining fraction under the binocular. So as to keep a trace in our collections of voucher specimens that have been deposited elsewhere, I make moulds and casts in resin which can be colored or not.
