I am working on the adaptation mechanisms of a cichlid species (Nile Tilapia) in Morocco. An aquaculture species of great economic interest that has been introduced in several Moroccan rivers and has managed to establish itself sustainably despite the unfavourable conditions of the environment. The objective of this thesis is to determine the main life-history traits of this species through the study of otoliths and morphometry and genetically differentiate these populations from the farmed populations and determine the selective events during this adaptation by sequencing certain candidate genes.

Keywords :

Life-history traits – Otoliths – Morphometry – Adaptation – Sequencing
