In this sense, paleofloristic reconstructions are important tools for the elucidation of paleoecological studies. My research aims to study compositional variations of northeastern Brazilian Cerrado vegetation as a result of natural and anthropic environmental changes during the Holocene. For this, I analyze the pollen assemblage and charcoal fragments deposited in wetland sediments, in order to reconstruct past vegetation and land-use history. Understanding the vulnerability level of these ecosystems is important for the creation of predictive models to forthcoming climate changes and management plans for Cerrado preservation."}
