My work is based on the study of structural and functional changes in mitochondria (cellular organelles essential for energy production) in response to stress (pesticides) or pathophysiological conditions. A pipeline developed by the team, MITOMATICS, enables efficient, rapid and cost-effective analysis of mitochondrial shape and network architecture within the cell from confocal fluorescence images.
