We question the evolution of skeletal tissues that arose more than 450 million years ago, through the characterization of embryogenesis in the lesser spotted catshark Scyliorhinus canicula. We explore the outcomes of this evolutionary history at the genomic, cell type and organ scales. In addition, I teach classes within the Biology-Ecology department of the University, including embryology, genetics and zoology to undergrad and grad students.
